What is personal data?

Personal data is data about your person which makes an identification possible. This includes, for example, your name, first name, your address and your email address. Personal information may also include information from social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, Google, LinkedIn and other service providers.

In principle, you do not have to disclose any personal data in order to visit our website. In some cases we may need your name, address and other information to provide you with the requested information or to respond to your inquiry. In these cases, you need to give us your consent. We only store the data that you have transmitted to us automatically or voluntarily.

How is personal data processed?

At some points on our website we offer you the opportunity to contact us or to make use of certain services. We store the personal data transmitted here only for the purpose for which it was provided to us, such as to process your enquiry or to answer any questions you may have. Your data will not be passed on to third parties.

It may happen that third party content, such as videos from YouTube, maps from Google Maps, RSS feeds or graphics from other websites, is integrated into our website. This always presupposes that the providers of this content (hereinafter referred to as third-party providers) are aware of the IP address of the user, because without the IP address they could not send the content to the browser of the respective user. The IP address is therefore required for the display of this content. We endeavour to use only those contents whose providers use the IP address only for the delivery of the contents. However, we have no influence on this if the third party providers store the IP address, e.g. for statistical purposes.

What data is collected?

If there is an opportunity for the input of personal or business data (email addresses, name, addresses), the input of this data takes place voluntarily. The use of all offered services is possible - to the extent technically possible and reasonable - without specification of any personal data or under specification of anonymised data or an alias. By entering the optional data correctly, however, you enable us to provide you with personal and individual support.

SSL encryption

To protect the security of your data during transmission, we use state-of-the-art encryption methods (e.g. SSL) via HTTPS.

Is the confidentiality of the email traffic/contact form guaranteed?

Should you wish to contact us via your own email account, we would like to point out that the confidentiality of the information transmitted may not be guaranteed.

If the data is collected and processed via our contact form, this data is encrypted before it is transmitted. You are welcome to send us confidential information by post only.

Will data be logged during my visit?

Every time a user accesses a page from our website and every time a file is called up, access data about this process is stored in a log file on our server:

  • Date and time

This data is used to generate statistics that help us to further adapt our website to your needs. A personal reference can only be derived from this if you register directly on our site or access our website from a personalised page. However, the data will never be passed on to third parties, even in excerpts.

Are cookies used?

When you visit our website, we may store information on your computer in the form of cookies. Cookies are small files that are transferred from an Internet server to your browser and stored on its hard drive. Only the Internet protocol address is stored - not personal data.

Most browsers are set to automatically accept cookies. However, you can deactivate the storage of cookies or set your browser so that it informs you as soon as cookies are sent.

If you have deactivated all cookies in your browser, a so-called session ID is used to identify you during a continuous access to our website. Again, no data is stored on your computer. The SessionID is deleted after your access has ended.

How can we influence the use of personal data?

Of course, you have the sole right to decide whether and for what purposes we may use your data. Furthermore, you alone decide whether we may use your data for consulting, advertising and market research purposes. Here, too, you can of course revoke your consent at any time.

We adhere to the principles of data avoidance and data economy. We therefore only store your personal data for as long as is necessary to achieve the purposes stated here or as provided for in the various storage periods provided for by law. After the respective purpose no longer applies or the expiry of these periods, the corresponding data will be blocked or deleted as a matter of routine and in accordance with statutory regulations.

Do you pass my data on to third parties?

Personal data is used by us only for internal purposes in the course of the customer relationship. A transfer to third parties does not take place without your necessary consent. Personal data is only collected and transmitted to government institutions and authorities entitled to receive information in accordance with the relevant laws, or if we are obliged to do so by court order. All employees and service providers are bound to secrecy and compliance with data protection regulations.

What safety precautions have we taken?

We have taken technical and administrative security precautions to protect your personal data against loss, destruction, manipulation and unauthorised access. All employees and service providers are bound to secrecy and compliance with data protection regulations.

Whenever we collect and process personal information, it is encrypted before it is transmitted. This means that your data cannot be misused by third parties. Our security precautions are subject to a continuous improvement process and our privacy policies are constantly revised.

Will this privacy policy also be changed?

Due to current circumstances, such as an amendment to the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG-neu, GDPR), we will - if necessary - update this data protection declaration.

How can I check, correct, revoke or delete my data?

The user has the right to receive information on request free of charge (Art. 15 GDPR) about the stored personal data, furthermore the user can have his data corrected (Art. 16 GDPR) or deleted (Art. 17 GDPR). Please contact us at any time if you would like to know what personal data we store about you or if your data should be deleted or corrected.

In addition, users also have the right to restrict processing (Art. 18 GDPR), a right to object to processing (Art. 21 GDPR), a right of revocation (Art. 7 GDPR) and the right to data transferability (Art. 20 GDPR) in accordance with legal provisions. Furthermore, there is a right of appeal to the competent supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). In these cases, please contact us directly.

Legal basis of the processing

Art. 6 I a GDPR serves our company as legal basis for processing operations for which we obtain consent for a specific processing purpose. If the processing of personal data is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is a party, as is the case for example with processing operations necessary for the delivery of goods or the provision of other services or reciprocal service, the processing is based on Art. 6 I b GDPR.

The same applies to such processes that are necessary to carry out pre-contractual measures, for example in cases of enquiries about our products or services. If our company is subject to a legal obligation which requires the processing of personal data, for example to fulfil tax obligations, the processing is based on Art. 6 I c GDPR.

In rare cases, the processing of personal data may become necessary to protect the vital interests of the data subject or another natural person. This would be the case, for example, if a visitor were injured in our company and his/her name, age, health insurance data or other vital information had to be passed on to a doctor, a hospital or other third parties. Then the processing would be based on Art. 6 I d GDPR.

Ultimately, processing operations could be based on Art. 6 I f GDPR. Processing operations which are not covered by any of the aforementioned legal bases can be implemented on this legal basis if processing is necessary to safeguard a legitimate interest of our company or a third party, provided that the interests, fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject do not prevail. Such processing procedures are permitted to us in particular because they have been specifically mentioned by the European legislators. In this respect, they took the view that a legitimate interest could be assumed if the data subject is a customer of the person responsible (Recital 47, Sentence 2 GDPR).

Integration of services and contents of third parties

Our offer sometimes includes the contents, services and performances of other providers. These include maps provided by Google Maps, videos from YouTube and graphics and images from other websites. In order for this data to be called up and displayed in the user's browser, the transmission of the IP address is absolutely necessary. The providers (hereinafter referred to as "third party providers") thus see the IP address of the respective user.

Although we try to use only third party providers who only need the IP address to deliver content, we have no influence on whether the IP address may be stored. In this case, this process is used for statistical purposes, among other things. If we have knowledge that the IP address is stored, we point this out to our users.

Other integration of third-party services and content

It may happen that third party content, such as videos from YouTube, maps from Google Maps, RSS feeds or graphics from other websites, is integrated within this online offer. This always presupposes that the providers of this content (hereinafter referred to as "third party providers") are aware of the IP address of the users, because without the IP address they could not send the content to the browser of the respective user. The IP address is therefore required for the display of this content. We make every effort to use only those contents whose respective providers use the IP address only for the delivery of the contents. However, we have no influence on this if the third party providers store the IP address, e.g. for statistical purposes. If we are aware of this we inform the user. Links on Facebook and Xing do not transfer the IP address.
